This screening service is useful to help identify children’s and family’s needs for treatment early in the helping process to allow for individualized service and safety planning.
A trauma assessment can be utilized when the child or individual is unable to speak due to age or development, experiencing developmental delays, has a lack of insight of suspected abuse, and/or unable to share details of suspected abuse.
A trauma assessment includes a one-on-one clinical interview, may include questionnaires and/or observations to gather information about the nature of the traumatic event(s) and assess the person’s current trauma-related symptoms and limitations.
